If we were really under law for walk, we ought to be cursed, or you destroy its authority.7 Hence the proper use of the law is to apply it to sinners to show them their sin and then to present the gospel with its message of salvation in Christ. Paul terms the gospel with which he was entrusted “the gospel of the glory of the blessed God.” Translations which weaken the phrase tēs doxēs to a simple adjective “glorious” are inexact and misleading. This is
